Boyertown, Berks County and Southeastern Pennsylvania AreasBefore you visit, check the website of the Berks County Museum Council. We now have about 24 members, with more to come! There's a lot to see and do throughout the county. Planning a visit to Bahr's Mill, but can't decide when to come? Combine your visit with one to the annual Goschenhoppen Historians Folk Festival. Always held on the second Saturday in August, and the day before, it is well worth the trip! 2001 Festival will be held August 10 - 11. While visiting Boyertown, you might also want to visit the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, in town. If you plan to spend the night, try the Twin Turrets Inn on Route 73 in the center of town. For more information, check out the Boyertown web page. Also check out Berks Web and the Historical Society of Berks County for more information on Berks County. Nearby in Berks County, don't miss Daniel Boone Homestead's sawmill, Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, and the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading. You might consider combining a visit to us with one of their events. Finally, some general links include Pennsylvania Travel & Tourism, and the Reading / Berks Convention and Visitors Bureau. MiscellaneousRural Heritage - Draft Animal events (thanks to Phil Cannon for this link). Industrial Archaeology Recordings has some neat links, as does Phil Buehler's links. |
If you have more links to suggest, or have found dead links, please email us at BahrsMill@netcarrier.com. Thanks.
