Our Experience

Over the years, SDDC has provided assistance to various contractors in support of the following military systems.

NOTE: We produced manuals for these equipments at the time of their initial manufacture.  We have no control over the later versions of these manuals, which may support currently fielded equipment.  We are in the business of producing manuals only and we are not a repair facility nor do we stock any components of the equipments listed below:

U.S. Army

Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE). This project was performed for GTE Government Systems Corp., MSE Division (MSED) the prime contractor for the U.S. Army Communications Command, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703. MSE is a $4.5 billion contract for communication/telephone systems that provide mobile and static subscribers with secure and automatic communications throughout the battlefield. MSE provides both voice and data communication capability to each subscriber, as he moves about the battlefield, on an automatic, discrete-addressed, fixed-directory basis using flood search routing. SDDC processes source data obtained from over 30 equipment subcontractors as input to a LSA database. The database is used to produce the data items needed for fielding and on-going support by the prime contractor field teams and Army forces. SDDC has maintained LSA database(s); produced provisioning data, DLSC screening, illustrated parts publications, supply support data outputs, and related documentation for operator, organizational, field, and depot maintenance needs for a wide range of MSE equipments.

U.S. Air Force

Combat Talon II Aircraft. IBM's former Systems Integration Division in Owego, New York, acted as the avionics systems integration contractor for the Air Force's Combat Talon II aircraft, the MC-130H. The mission of the Combat Talon II aircraft involves a global, day/night, adverse weather ability to airdrop and airland personnel and equipment in support of special operations forces. The Combat Talon II MC-130H airframe is a derivative of the C-130H. Prior to delivery of the airframe to the USAF as a government furnished equipment, Lockheed Corporation modifications add the capability for high-speed, low-level airdrops, air-to-air refueling, explosion-suppressive fuel tanks, and dual exterior lighting. Modifications to allow the installation of the avionics systems are then made. Systems Design & Development Corp. is the data subcontractor responsible for the development and management of the ILS databases which track the manufacturing baseline and engineering changes which impact deliverable configurations. U.S. Air Force D220 files are created and maintained via these databases. Seven major equipment sub-contractors are involved in this data processing requirement.

Communications Systems Segment Replacement for the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. This system is installed at NORAD's center for command, control, communications and intelligence (C3I) at the Air Force's Cheyenne Mountain Complex near Colorado Springs, Colo. It is the backbone for processing communications of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) which keeps watch on aircraft, missiles, and space satellites that might pose a threat to the United States and Canada. In the capacity of data subcontractor, SDDC was responsible for the management of major NDI vendor manufacturing inputs to establish ILS data files applied to stock number screening, failure data analysis, support coding, parts provisioning (D220) processing, and the preparation of MIL-M-38807 parts publications to support maintenance activities to the LRU level.
